about

This is third of 5 tunes for the EP Two Dogs One Bone. KME! Woof!

lyrics

There’s something about the open road
Want to see how far I can go
Gimme one very long day
Point me in any direction

There’s nothing about the open road
That I ain’t seen before
Putting in the miles is all I ever wanted
Trying to escape a house that was haunted

I have travelled down this road before
The window rolled down on the driver side door
Radio blasting music that couldn’t be sadder
Singing about…ah….it doesn’t matter

The first town pulls me down and swallows me whole
I was singing a song when something went wrong
The next town had flames that reached so high
Like the colors of dawn streaming across my face
While I went down this road
Down this road
Down this road

Running away from my troubles
Hoping every door has a welcome mat
Right lights on in every room
A place to throw my hat

Over and over again I picture this scene
A mash up of blues and greens
It always looks great on the big screen, or in
Every single one of my dreams

I have travelled down this road before
The window rolled down on the driver side door
Radio blasting music that couldn’t be sadder
Singing about…ah….it doesn’t matter

The next town was starting to look like the last
I swerved to avoid it but it came on too fast
I somehow made it through without a scratch
And the colors of dawn were streaming across my face
While I went down this road
While I went down this road

about

Ken Moss Los Angeles, California

In 1979, I came to DC from LA and formed the band Acrylix, during the New Wave/Punk Rock scare of the period. After Acrylix folded in 1987, I kept at it, in bands Shocko Bottom, 7 Door Sedan, and Laughing Sam (with Tom Lyle of GI). For the past 10+ years, I have been The Ken Moss Experience. I contributed guitar on Rob Moss’ excellent Red Beans and Gasoline.  I am now back in LA. ... more
